Room to Rest was created to address a growing need for safe, structured housing options for adults navigating periods of transition. We recognize that stability begins with housing and that the right environment can make all the difference.
Our shared community housing model is designed for independent adults who benefit from a calm, supportive living environment paired with clear expectations and accountability. We believe housing should be rooted in dignity, respect, and community, while also encouraging personal responsibility and forward movement.
Room to Rest is not an emergency shelter. It is a purposefully designed shared housing program that balances compassion with structure, providing residents the opportunity to stabilize, reset, and work toward long-term housing goals.
To address housing and food insecurities by providing safe, affordable shared community housing for independent adults, supported by structured living, accountability, and access to community-based resources that promote stability and long-term housing stability.
Room to Rest creates meaningful impact by pairing intentional shared living environments with clear program guidelines, resident accountability, and consistent support.
We strengthen outcomes by partnering with community organizations and referral agencies, helping residents access resources that address housing and food insecurity while supporting their transition toward sustained housing stability.
Our impact is realized through:
Room to Rest operates as a shared community housing program, not an emergency shelter. Residents live in furnished shared rooms and share common household spaces. This model allows us to offer affordable housing while encouraging accountability, cooperation, and community connection.
Shared sleeping spaces are a core part of our program and are clearly communicated during the application process so individuals can make informed decisions before applying.
Room to Rest provides housing and serves as a referral source only for community-based resources. We may connect residents to external organizations that offer services such as employment assistance, benefits support, re-entry programs, or other community resources.
Room to Rest does not provide case management, medical care, counseling, or direct support services.
